Chemistry is in everything. All that surrounds us is based on processes and chemical transformations. The study of chemistry involves knowledge of the nature of things and the evolution of natural and industrial processes. The study of food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, materials and industrial goods, water, air and soil quality is done using chemical methods and procedures.

To achieve this, highly qualified professionals are needed. The Faculty of Chemistry, through its study programs, prepares specialists in all these fields. Moreover, through the specializations they offer, it tries to keep pace with the rapid evolution of society's needs, thus linking a well-trained workforce with an ever changing demand for professionals.

Graduates of the Faculty of Chemistry are well trained and can be found in many institutions, research centers, schools and universities in the country and abroad (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, UK, USA, Canada, etc.) as well as in private companies.

The Faculty of Chemistry offers students 4 majors in the bachelor cycle: Chemistry, Medical Chemistry, Food Chemistry and Technological Biochemistry. In the master cycle, the offer is wider and always adapted to the demands of the labor market. The most sought after specialties are Clinical Chemistry, Chemistry of Cosmetic and Pharmaceutical Products, Environmental Chemistry and Food Safety, Forensic Chemistry. We also offer a research master, Advanced Studies in Chemistry.

Students of the Faculty of Chemistry have the opportunity to carry out research and practice internships in the research unit / laboratories in the country and abroad. They can also participate in European (Erasmus +) study and practice programs.

The teaching staff is very well trained and the teachers constantly improve in many fellowships and research projects in the country and abroad. We have partnerships and collaborations with all the relevant faculties in the country, with research institutes, with production units, as well as with many prestigious foreign universities (France, Germany, UK, Italy, Spain, Belgium and others).

Graduates of the Faculty of Chemistry have the opportunity to work in several fields, among which the most sought after are: chemists in research institutes (domestic and foreign), analytical laboratories (medical, environmental, pharmaceutical), chemists in drug factories (Antibiotice Iasi) or chemical products (Chemical Company, Kober, Zeelandia etc.), teachers (gymnasiums, lyceums, colleges, universities) in state or private educational establishments as well as in the distribution of chemical and pharmaceutical products and medical equipment.

The results of the didactic and research activity carried out by the Faculty of Chemistry teachers led to the Faculty's categorization in the most prestigious category, Category A, of the faculties of the country, together with the faculties of Bucharest and Cluj, as an advanced Faculty / University of Education and Research.

You can also be a Chemist!
